Introduction to Boating: Power and Sail
Lighthouse
Linx offers training and support for both Sail and Power boating in the
Kingston area.
Certified by the Canadian Yachting Association (CYA) as a Basic Cruising
Instructor for both Sail and Power, Bill Visser provides training on his own boat,
as well as training customers in the comfort of their own vessel.
- Sail
training is a 28-hour (four-day) program.
- Power training is a 14-hour
(two-day) program.
Think of it as a great start to a vacation in the Thousand
Islands – get your certification and enjoy spectacular boating!
Customers can also “challenge” the CYA standard – take
the test and demonstrate their skills in one day. From this they can pursue
additional certifications by the CYA – something to add to their
boating resume that can make chartering a boat down south or internationally
easier. Obtaining CYA certification may also qualify a boat owner for
reduced insurance premiums – check with your insurance carrier for
details.
In addition, Lighthouse Linx offers Concierge and Corporate Hospitality services as:
• skippering of boats for people cruising in the Kingston and
||Thousand Islands area
• delivery and care for boats in the Kingston area
• helping plan vacations
• organising a rendezvous for a group of people who want to meet
in
||Kingston (this includes locating a gathering place, catering and
||arranging
special trips)
Bill Visser, owner/operator, looks forward to working with you to help discover the joy of boating.
